Quality & Safety Coordinator
MTNA/Eternity Systems is seeking a Quality & Safety Coordinator to support quality, food safety, sanitation, occupational health and safety, and compliance activities at our facility.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being on the production floor, identifying opportunities for improvement, and working across departments to maintain safe, compliant, and consistent operations.
The Quality & Safety Coordinator will conduct routine production and sanitation inspections, verify wash and cleaning processes, maintain compliance documentation, support employee training and audits, track corrective actions through closure, and escalate significant risks to plant leadership.
What You'll Do- Conduct quality, safety, sanitation, hygiene, GMP, and facility inspections.
- Inspect sanitation processes before, during, and after cleaning activities to verify established requirements are being followed.
- Perform receiving, in-process, finished-product, wash-process, GMP, safety walk, and workplace inspections.
- Coordinate sanitation verification activities, including visual inspections, ATP testing, environmental or microbiological sampling, and water testing.
- Monitor operations for compliance with quality, food safety, sanitation, customer, regulatory, and workplace safety requirements.
- Identify unsafe conditions, quality defects, sanitation failures, and other compliance concerns and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
- Support investigations involving incidents, injuries, near misses, customer complaints, product non-conformances, and sanitation failures.
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain corrective-action trackers and follow identified issues through documented closure.
- Conduct safety walks and support job safety analyses, risk assessments, and proactive hazard identification.
- Support key safety programs, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, PPE, powered industrial trucks, pedestrian safety, chemical safety, emergency response, contractor controls, and ergonomics.
- Coordinate or deliver employee orientation, refresher training, toolbox talks, and training related to safety, sanitation, GMPs, food safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, incident documentation, training records, certifications, permits, postings, and audit evidence.
- Prepare reports related to quality testing, sanitation, safety inspections, trends, KPIs, and corrective actions.
- Support internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Human Resources, Operations Excellence, and employee safety committees to improve quality and safety performance.
- Support 5S, visual management, standard work, Lean problem-solving, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Post-secondary education in quality, food safety, occupational health and safety, manufacturing, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in quality, safety, sanitation, food safety, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, or industrial operations.
- Working knowledge of inspections, sanitation controls, GMPs, hazard identification, incident investigation, risk assessment, root cause analysis, and corrective-action processes.
- Ability to work independently, organize priorities, maintain accurate records, and follow issues through completion.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and related reporting systems.
- English required; Spanish and/or French preferred based on site needs.
- HACCP certification or training
- OSHA 30-hour or equivalent safety training
- First Aid/CPR certification
- ISO systems experience
- Lean or Six Sigma experience

This position works regularly throughout office, production, warehouse, wash, sanitation, and exterior facility areas. Required PPE must be worn while working in designated areas.
The position requires flexibility to support different shifts, sanitation inspections, audits, investigations, employee training, and urgent compliance matters when needed. Occasional travel to other MTNA/Eternity Systems locations may be required.
